HomeWriting a Letter to the Editor

HOW TO WRITE AN LTE

Write about the issues that matter to you. Only the LWVSKC President can speak for our League, but your voice as an individual matters.

BEFORE YOU SUBMIT

Keep it short. Many papers cap letters at 250 words..
Use your own name and city or neighborhood. Anonymous letters aren't published.
Include your email and phone. Papers use them to verify you and don't print them.
Near an election, some outlets stop running letters about candidates and ballot measures.

Here are a few outlets by area. Look for papers in your own community too.
